Job summary

Barnhart is seeking a Project Sales Technician to provide technical support for lifting, rigging and heavy transportation projects. You will work with sales, engineering and operations to conduct site visits, develop lift plans and validate project requirements, guiding safe and practical solutions from field to office.

Travel is local and regionally focused as projects demand. The role blends hands-on field work with documentation tasks, requiring strong crane/rigging know-how, problem-solving,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in crane and rigging, heavy lift, construction, or related field.
• Strong understanding of lifting principles, equipment capabilities, and safety.
• Experience developing lift plans and technical project docs.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant software.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate scope, site conditions, equipment needs, and execution considerations.
• Develop lift plans and technical documentation to support planning and execution.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering and operations to craft safe lifting solutions.
• Identify project risks and assist planning for successful execution.
• Provide technical input for estimates, equipment selection, scheduling and resources.
• Contribute technical docs and project details for proposals and presentations.
• Coordinate with operations and field teams to align plans with available assets.
• Maintain accurate project docs, site assessments, and technical records.
• Participate in customer meetings as a technical SME and support discussions.
• Promote a strong safety focus in all planning and activities.
