Job summary

Barnhart is seeking a Project Sales Technician to provide technical support for lifting, rigging, and heavy transportation projects. You’ll work with sales, engineering, and operations to perform site evaluations, develop lift plans, and design practical, safe solutions.

The role blends field and office work with travel for local job sites and regional support. Candidates should have crane/rigging experience and strong problem‑solving skills to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in crane and rigging, heavy lift, construction, or related field.
• Strong understanding of lifting and rigging principles and safety considerations.
• Experience developing lift plans and technical project documentation.
• Proficient in MS Office and technical software.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate scope, site conditions, equipment needs, and execution considerations.
• Develop lift plans and technical documentation to support planning and execution.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations to design safe lifting and transportation solutions.
• Identify project risks and support planning for successful execution.
• Provide technical input for estimates, equipment selection, scheduling, and resources.
• Contribute technical documentation for proposals and presentations.
• Coordinate with field teams to align plans with equipment and personnel availability.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and safety records.
• Participate in customer meetings as a technical SME.
• Promote safety across all planning and execution activities.
