Job summary

Marquette Mountain Resort in Michigan seeks a Lift Operator Lead to guide daily lift operations and ensure guest safety. You will supervise lift staff, monitor weather and conditions, and coordinate with maintenance and other departments to maintain smooth operations.

The role emphasizes leadership, guest service, safety procedures, and ability to adapt to changing alpine conditions during a seasonal window from October to April.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Avid mountain biker with ability to ride rugged terrain; able to work manual labor in all weather.
• Experience in mountain bike or ski area industry preferred.
• Experience with basic carpentry and structural tasks preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist lift operations supervisor with planning, supervision and daily lift operation coordination.
• Monitor lift operators for quality customer service and professional behavior.
• Supervise openings and closings, ramp preparation, and safety checks.
• Oversee daily reports including logs and incident reports.
• Coordinate with maintenance, snowsports, tickets and other departments as needed.
