WPHL-TV is hiring!

WPHL-TV/CW is hiring an energetic & dynamic Executive Producer/Co-host for a daily hour-long lifestyle show launching in Philadelphia this fall.

The show will highlight local businesses and events happening throughout the Delaware Valley to help promote our brand – We Are Philadelphia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a lifestyle show in the 5th biggest market in the country.
  • Superior on-air presence-Interviewing guests/clients in the studio and on location.
  • Knowledge of current events, pop culture, and community connections.
  • Help find local engaging stories to highlight on-air and on social media.
  • Researching show topics and developing questions for guests in coordination with the Co-host/Reporter and Producer.
  • Actively participate in daily content meetings
  • Writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating content and in-studio pieces for all platforms.
  • Working with Producer and Co-host/Reporter in booking guests.
  • Ensure all guests (clients/other) are associated with a legitimate organization.
  • Greeting and assisting guests during show preparations.
  • Working with Production and Creative Services teams on taping schedules (in studio and remote production) and live show management.
  • Station Representative at Community Events, either station sponsored or other, to promote the show and the station
  • Work with sales department to help ensure a positive experience for clients.
  • Assisting sales department on presentations, including meeting with clients.
  • Ability to deliver pre-live shows and pre-produced stories on time and on brand.
  • Ensure all segments are posted the same day to shows website and daily social media posts.
  • Other duties as assigned by Creative Services Director.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • An infectious personality that viewers will love watching each day and an unparalleled passion, work ethic and drive
  • Excellent organization and communication skills required to actively work with all departments (Sales, Marketing, News, Production, Programming, Creative Services) at the station
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work alone and as part of a team
  • Minimum two years On-Air Lifestyle Hosting & Producing Experience
  • Ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Ability to lead a small team
  • Ability to shoot video is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of ENPS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Software, especially Outlook and Microsoft Word
  • Demo reel of previous hosting/reporting experience required (no exceptions).
