Job description

Online Support Group Host for Trauma, all Dissociative Disorders, and Loved Ones

We are seeking volunteers to host online support groups focused on trauma and dissociative disorders, including Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), Depersonalization, Derealization, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and support for loved ones of those with DID.

Position Details:

  • Work remotely
  • 1-3 hours weekly
  • At least 3 months commitment

Groups are held weekly via Zoom, each lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, typically in the evenings from 4:45 to 6 pm PST, with some sessions during mid-day on weekends. Co-hosted by qualified facilitators such as Social Workers, counselors, or students pursuing relevant education, with relevant experience or personal understanding of these disorders preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Preparation before each group session
  2. Facilitating the group session
  3. Creating a brief report after each session

Training includes a short presentation, a quiz, and shadowing at least one session. Hosts should indicate related experience or qualifications and describe their understanding of CPTSD and dissociative disorders. Lived experience is considered an asset.

Minimum requirements:

  • Background in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, Peer Support, or related fields
  • Pursuing relevant education or experience
