Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District seeks a Special Education Teacher – Lifeskills to provide instructional leadership and guidance for students with severe cognitive and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on implementing individualized education plans and supportive strategies within a structured classroom.

The teacher will collaborate with families, therapists and administrators, develop IEPs, collect progress data, and implement behavior interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or out-of-state certificate appropriate for the position.
• ESL Certification required during 1st year if not already obtained.
• Certification must meet federal/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum.
• Prepare accommodations for diverse learning styles as required.
• Assist in developing/writing students' IEPs.
• Monitor student progress using data and assessments.
• Maintain communication with parents and staff regarding student growth.
