Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with cognitive disabilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals.
  • Participate in ARD committee meetings.

Skills

Knowledge of IDEA, Texas Education Code
Knowledge of intellectual disabilities
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to supervise paraprofessionals
Strong collaboration and communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education
CPI or crisis intervention training
