Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore is seeking lifeguards to monitor the pool, perform rescues, enforce pool rules, maintain water quality, and provide friendly, professional service to members and guests. Required are current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED, First Aid, and Baltimore County/City Pool Operator certifications (we assist with obtaining).

Candidates should have 2 years lifeguarding experience and be able to work weekends and

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required.
• CPR for Professional Rescuer with AED and First Aid certification.
• Baltimore County/City Pool Operator certifications required or will be obtained.
• Two years lifeguarding experience preferred with references.
• Weekend work and varying shifts (early morning to evening) expected.
• Male candidate required for male-only swim times.

Responsibilities

• Guard during assigned times; ensure patron safety and enforce pool rules.
• Perform chemical readings and maintain pool water conditions per code.
• Keep pool deck clean and present a professional image to members.
• Assist Aquatics staff and participate in training sessions.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and maintain fitness readiness.
• Support check-in/out of towels, gear, and incidentals as needed.
