Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore is seeking a Lifeguard to supervise pool activities, ensure safety, and maintain water quality. The role requires guarding during female-only swim times, enforcing rules, and delivering strong member service in a busy indoor pool environment.

Candidates must hold current lifeguarding and CPR/First Aid certifications and possess or be willing to obtain Baltimore County and City pool operator certifications.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, including AED, and First Aid.
• Baltimore County and Baltimore City Pool Operator's certifications (assistance to obtain).
• May complete Bloodborne Pathogens or related safety training as required.
• Two years lifeguarding experience preferred with references.
• Ability to work weekends and various shifts from 6am–10pm.
• Female candidate required to meet needs of orthodox population.

Responsibilities

• Guard during female-only swim times.
• Ensure safety of all swimmers and enforce pool rules.
• Perform chemical readings and maintain pool conditions per Maryland bathing code.
• Keep pool area clean and present a professional image at all times.
• Provide outstanding member service and participate in in-service training.
• Maintain fitness and respond to emergencies; assist Aquatics staff as needed.
