Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore is seeking lifeguards for full-time and part-time roles. Responsibilities include monitoring pool safety, enforcing rules, performing water testing, and assisting with first aid and rescue operations.

Candidates should hold a current lifeguard certification and CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED, First Aid, and ideally Baltimore County/City Pool Operator certifications.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification required or cross-over to ARC Lifeguarding within 90 days.
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED and First Aid certifications.
• Baltimore County/City Pool Operator's certification preferred; assistance offered for full-time hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all swimmers during shift and enforce pool rules.
• Present a positive, professional image of the JCC to members and guests; provide excellent service.
• Perform chemical readings and maintain pool conditions per Maryland bathing code.
• Maintain pool area cleanliness (deck, railings, scum-lines, surrounding areas).
• Participate in regular in-service training.
• Maintain high personal fitness and readiness for emergencies.
• Assist Aquatics staff in other areas as needed.
