Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure safe pool and deck operations and to act as a first responder during emergencies. You will monitor safety rules, assist with rescues, and support a positive, welcoming environment for families.

You will train and certify as needed, enjoy benefits, and work on a team committed to equity and community wellbeing. This is an on-site position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 16+ for part-time; 18+ for full-time
• Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization (e.g. Red Cross)
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
• Administering Emergency Oxygen Certification
• Strong swimming abilities
• Must be observant and able to react calmly in emergencies
• Maintain certification readiness

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe swimming conditions in pool and deck areas.
• Rescue distressed persons and administer first aid/CPR when needed.
• Perform equipment checks and report issues.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Attend staff trainings as required.
• Conduct pool-side chemical testing.
• Set up and store recreation equipment.
• Other duties as assigned
