Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is hiring lifeguards on site to ensure safe swimming conditions and a positive experience for kids and families. You will monitor the pool and deck, respond as a first responder, and support safety standards with a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization (e.g. Red Cross).
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
• Strong swimming abilities and vigilant observation for safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe swimming conditions in pool, deck and surrounding areas.
• Rescues distressed persons and administers first aid/CPR when needed.
• Performs equipment checks and reports problems promptly.
• Provides excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Performs pool side chemical testing.
• Sets up and stores equipment for recreational swims.
• Other duties as assigned.
