YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Lifeguard for an on-site role. You will help maintain water and deck safety, act as a first responder in emergencies, and support overall YMCA safety standards for kids and families.

The position requires current lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications, with the possibility of completing training if needed. Benefits include health plans, retirement contributions, and paid time off, with options for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older for part-time; 18+ for full-time
• Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization (e.g. Red Cross)
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
• Current Administering Emergency Oxygen Certification
• Strong swimming abilities
• Must be observant and able to react calmly in an emergency
• Ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire

Responsabilités

• Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas
• Rescues distressed persons and administers first aid/CPR as needed
• Performs equipment checks and reports problems
• Provide great customer service to members, participants, and guests
• Attends staff meetings and trainings
• Performs pool side chemical testing
• Sets up and stores equipment for recreational swims
• Other duties as assigned
