Ymca Of Central Maryland, Inc. is seeking a Lifeguard to create a safe, welcoming aquatic environment for members, guests, and program participants.

You will monitor the pool, respond to emergencies, enforce safety requirements, and support daily care and operation of the aquatic area. The role requires current Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, with oxygen administration certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Qualifikationen

• Current Lifeguard certification is required.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Oxygen Administration certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to complete the Y in Central Maryland swim test.
• Maintain required certifications and demonstrate rescue skills.
• Flexible availability including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Completion of required new-associate training, including Child Abuse Prevention, before the first scheduled shift.
• Ability to communicate clearly, follow established procedures, and accept training and supervision.

Aufgaben

• Actively monitor swimmers and maintain surveillance of the pool area.
• Enforce pool rules and Y safety requirements.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to water-related emergencies.
• Conduct pool-chemical checks and make basic adjustments within procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool deck.
• Inspect aquatic equipment and report safety or maintenance concerns.
• Set up and store equipment for lessons, programs, and events.
• Engage positively with members and participants when not guarding.
• Attend required in-service training, meetings, and skill evaluations.
• Support Y aquatic programs and communicate with members and families.
• Promote an inclusive and respectful environment.
• Model the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
