Job summary

Qualifications

• The candidate should be able to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Must maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness.
• Ability to enforce aquatic rules with a positive customer service approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area, monitoring for signs of distress and responding to ensure patron safety.
• Knows and reviews emergency procedures and responds to emergencies per YMCA policies; completes incident/accident reports as needed.
• Maintains positive relationships with members, participants and staff; applies safety rules and keeps required records.
• Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available; reports hazards and pool conditions.
