Job summary

Bath Area Family YMCA is hiring an Opening Lifeguard to supervise the pool area and ensure safety under the Aquatics Director. You will respond to emergencies, enforce safety rules, and maintain rescue readiness while on duty.

The role requires current lifeguard certification (YMCA or Red Cross), CPR/AED and First Aid, with a non-exempt, hourly schedule and weekend availability. Training and consistent performance are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED certification.
• Basic First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains rescue readiness at all times.
• Positions to protect entire assigned zone of responsibility.
• Enforces non-swimmer protection & safety rules.
• Attends mandatory in-service training & staff meetings.
• Documents accidents and incidents and notifies manager within 24 hours.
