Job summary

The Lifeguard at YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in and around the aquatic facility, while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.

Key duties include monitoring pool activities and enforcing safety rules, responding promptly to emergencies with CPR/First Aid as needed, conducting regular equipment inspections, delivering excellent customer service to patrons, and participating in ongoing training to maintain

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• lifeguarding experience preferred, customer service experience helpful.

Required Education:

Required Experience

• Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.

• Strong swimming skills and ability to perform water rescues.
• Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and AED usage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
