Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a vigilant Lifeguard to ensure the safety of swimmers and staff at the aquatic facility. You will monitor activities, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies with CPR and first aid when required.

Ideal candidates hold current lifeguard certification with First Aid/CPR/AED, possess strong swimming abilities, and deliver friendly, helpful service to patrons while participating in ongoing training and safety drills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain, plus First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Strong swimming ability and water rescue skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool activity and enforce safety rules.
• Respond to emergencies with first aid and CPR as needed.
• Inspect pool equipment and facilities for safety.
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons.
• Participate in ongoing lifeguard training.
