Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Lifeguard to supervise the aquatic area and ensure patron safety at our Elmhurst facility. You will monitor activity, enforce rules, respond to emergencies with first aid and CPR, and provide friendly service to all guests.

Ideal candidates have strong swimming ability, knowledge of CPR/First Aid/AED, and excellent communication skills. Ongoing training and certification maintenance are required to keep safety standards high.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.
• Strong swimming and water rescue skills.
• Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and AED usage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and act quickly in emergencies.
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills.

Responsibilities
