Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons in and around the aquatic facility, while maintaining a welcoming, professional environment.

The role requires strong swimming, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and the ability to stay calm and act quickly in emergencies. Previous lifeguarding and customer service experience are preferred, with ongoing training provided.

Qualifications

• Strong swimming ability with water rescue skills.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification required or in progress.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool activities and enforce safety rules to prevent accidents.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, administering first aid and CPR as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections of pool equipment and facilities to ensure safety standards are met.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to all patrons.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain lifeguard certifications and skills.
