Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in and around the aquatic facility. The role requires vigilance, strong swimming, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety rules, performing rescues, and maintaining equipment inspections, while delivering excellent customer service. Training and certification maintenance are expected as part of ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Strong swimming ability and water rescue skills.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred or required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool activities and enforce safety rules.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and administer first aid/CPR as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections of pool equipment and facilities for safety compliance.
• Provide excellent customer service to all patrons.
• Participate in ongoing aquatics training to maintain certifications.
