Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Must complete YMCA Lifeguard certification (or ARC equivalent) during hire.
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active surveillance of the pool area.
• Respond immediately to emergencies per YMCA policies.
• Maintain positive relationships with members and staff.
• Apply safety rules and guidelines for pool and aquatic areas.
• Keep accurate records as required by YMCA and health codes.
• Perform equipment checks and ensure availability of needed gear.
• Open and close procedures and secure the facility.
