Job summary

Emma B. Howe Northtown Family YMCA in Coon Rapids, MN is seeking a Lifeguard in Training (age 15+) with paid training and a path to Lifeguard certification.

The role offers a flexible schedule, a free YMCA membership, and opportunities for skill development in safety procedures and swimming supervision. The position requires the ability to swim well, pass a swim skills assessment, and a commitment to member safety in a busy pool environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Patience and the ability to communicate with all ages and levels of swimmers.
• Demonstrated ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water.
• Dedicated to member safety and the mission and philosophy of the YMCA

Responsibilities

• Shadow lifeguards and assist with safety procedures.
• Know and communicate pool policies and procedures for safety.
• Report to Aquatics Director and collaborate with staff and volunteers.
