Job summary

Emma B. Howe Northtown Family YMCA in Coon Rapids, MN is seeking a Certified Lifeguard to supervise the aquatics area, respond to emergencies, and create a safe swim experience.

The role supports open swim, water exercise, swim lessons, and lap swimming with a positive atmosphere aligned to YMCA policies. Shifts include early morning openings (4:40 AM) and daytime weekday coverage, typically 3–4 hours per shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Current nationally accredited lifeguard certification.
• Current BLS/CPR + AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications.
• Certification required within 45 days of hire: Oxygen Administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area and respond to emergencies.
• Perform first aid and complete incident/accident reports.
• Know and enforce pool policies and guidelines for safety.
• Attend monthly in-service trainings.
