YMCA of the North invites applications for Lifeguard-In Training (Age 15+) at Elk River YMCA. This in-training role offers paid training and a path to Lifeguard certification, with a flexible schedule and a free Y membership.

The position starts with an in-training rate of $13.92 per hour, rising to $16.50 per hour once certified. Salary and benefits depend on part-time status and experience, with employment subject to YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Patience and the ability to communicate with all ages and levels of swimmers.
• Demonstrated ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water (Stage 5 level swimming) or physically able to perform all lifeguard skills.
• Dedicated to member safety and YMCA mission.

Responsabilités

• Shadow and assist lifeguards and learn programming and emergency procedures.
• Know, understand, and communicate pool policies and procedures clearly.
