Job summary

Southdale YMCA is seeking a Lifeguard-In-Training (age 15+) in Edina, MN. The role includes paid training and progression to Lifeguard with a higher wage once certified, starting at $13.92 per hour.

Flexible shifts in mornings and days offer a short work period with a focus on safety and customer service. Shadow certified lifeguards, learn emergency procedures, and pass swim skills assessments within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water.
• Patience and the ability to communicate with all ages and levels of swimmers.
• Dedicated to member safety and the mission of the YMCA.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist lifeguards and learn safety procedures.
• Know, understand, and communicate pool policies and procedures to members.
