Job summary

City of Irving is seeking a dedicated lifeguard for pool facilities managed by the Parks and Recreation Department. Responsibilities include lifeguarding, instructional programs, and general facility tasks.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, read and write at required levels, and hold current Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR certifications prior to hire. Hours vary and may include evenings and weekends; training opportunities are available through the City.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and able to read/write at a level sufficient for job performance.
• Current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR certification required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform lifeguarding duties to prevent incidents at aquatic facilities and respond as a first responder when needed.
• Conduct instructional programs as assigned.
• Provide first responder support at special events as required.
