Job summary

The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking a Lifeguard to join our aquatics team at our pools in Gloucester, MA. This part-time role offers flexible shifts and a chance to contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for members and participants of all ages.

Starting pay is $16.00–$19.00 per hour, with higher rates based on certifications and experience. Free YMCA membership and other employee perks are available; training and advancement opportunities are offered through the aquatics program.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Current lifeguard certifications: Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration.
• Or willingness to obtain certifications before starting (training may be available).

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers and respond to emergencies to keep pools safe.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for members and participants.
• Assist with swim lessons using YMCA curriculum where applicable.
