Job summary

SafeSplash Swim School in Waukee, IA is seeking a Lifeguard to oversee pool safety and provide emergency care. You’ll monitor activities, enforce rules, and support a safe, welcoming environment for swimmers of all ages.

Responsibilities include constant supervision, immediate response to incidents, and maintaining a clean facility in line with American Red Cross standards.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification required by Red Cross.
• CPR/AED certification required for adult, infant and swimmer.
• Swim instruction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area and respond to emergencies.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until EMS arrival.
• Perform duties to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Ensure pool area is supervised according to American Red Cross standards.

Education

Red Cross Lifeguard certification

Red Cross CPR/AED certification (adult, infant and swimmer)

Previous swim instruction experience (preferred)

What will you do as a Lifeguard?

• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of customers in the event of an emergency
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
• Perform various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Make sure the pool area is always properly supervised and attended in accordance to American Red Cross standards

What are we looking for in a Lifeguard?

• Maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer
• Previous swim instruction experience is preferred
• Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguarding prerequisites to American Red Cross standards
