Job summary

Wausau Country Club in Schofield, WI, part of Troon, is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to join our hospitality-focused team. You’ll supervise swimmers, administer first aid, maintain pool areas, and support members with lessons and safety programs.

This role requires a minimum of two years of lifeguarding experience, CPR and First Aid certifications, and related Water Safety credentials. We offer healthcare benefits and a 401(k) with employer matching, along with a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervises and observes swimmers to ensure safety.
• Administers first aid for minor injuries.
• Maintains pool facilities and cleanliness of changing rooms and showers.
• Organizes clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by department manager.
• Enforces pool rules and safety policies.
• Performs pool maintenance including chemical checks and vacuuming.
• Reports shortages of first aid supplies to management.
• Plans and monitors pool games; suggests poolside activities.
• Removes debris and prepares pool for daily use.
• Keeps records as required by department manager.

We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part ofTroon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Key Responsibilitiesof the Lifeguard:

• Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety.
• Administers first aid to minor injuries such as small cuts and bruises of swimmers.
• Maintains amenities in and cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms and showers.
• Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by department manager.
• Enforces the rules of conduct.
• Performs pool maintenance to include checking chemicals and pool vacuuming.
• Checks the first aid supplies and reports needed items to management in a timely fashion.
• Organizes and monitors pool games at all times; suggests pool-side games.
• Skims bugs and other debris from surface to prepare pool for daily use, empties automatic skimmer.
• Cleans up and organizespool area at the end of the day.
• Maintains all necessary records determined by the department manager.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Minimum Qualifications for the Lifeguard:

• Minimum of two(2) years of lifeguarding experience.
• CPR, First Aid Certification, various Water Safety/Instructor Certifications required.

Other Qualifications:

• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes.
