This is skilled water safety work involving the prevention of accidents and injuries at a City swimming pool.
Responsible for safeguarding patrons by preventing injuries or drowning, administering first aid or CPR. Work follows departmental rules and water safety practices. Supervision is from a superior who assigns work and reviews performance.
High School Diploma or GED.
Current Lifeguard Training Certification with CPR for Professional Rescuer or equivalent. Must pass City of Opa-locka performance test.
At least 18 years of age.
Work is assigned with some independence; reviewed through reports and inspections.
Stand, walk, see, hear, and communicate frequently; lift up to 20 pounds; specific vision requirements.
