Job summary

Dartmouth College is seeking a Lifeguard for the Alumni Gym pools in Hanover, NH. The position runs 10am–2pm, Monday–Friday, with seasonal weekend/evening hours. Non-exempt, temporary 9-month term, located at Lewinstein Athletic Center Pool.

Qualifications

• Must be Lifeguard Certified – current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.
• One to two years of lifeguard experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitors swimmer safety and pool activity; enforces all pool rules and safety policies.
• Assists and responds to emergencies using proper life-safety techniques.
• Maintains a safe aquatic environment around the pools and communicates with patrons.
• Represents professionalism and collegiality in a welcoming environment for all.

Position Purpose

This position serves as the initial contact for all visitors and users entering either of the two pools located in Alumni Gym and will monitor all swimmers in either of the two pools. Must be Lifeguard Certified – current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.
