Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Life Guard to help maintain a safe aquatic environment at our Salem, NH facility. The role enforces pool rules and follows emergency procedures under the supervision of the Aquatics Director.

The position involves assisting with swim lessons for children, supervising activities, and collaborating with staff across activity areas. Candidates must be 15+ and hold current CPR, First Aid, and Advanced Lifesaving certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be 15+ years of age.
• Current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid and Advanced Lifesaving certification required.
• Experience as a lifeguard preferred; at minimum, experience working with children/youth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and enforce pool rules in accordance with safety standards.
• Assist with swim lessons for various age groups.

PRIMARYFUNCTION:

This position assists in maintaining a safe environment, enforces all pool rules and follows all required emergency procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In partnership with the Aquatics Director, assist in maintaining a safe environment, in accordance with all safety standards. Enforce all pool rules and be familiar with all emergency procedures.
• Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate activities, including assistance with swim lessons for various age groups.
• Assist in the supervision and discipline of members participating in programs and services within the program area as well as throughout the clubhouse, as deemed appropriate.
• Participate in collaborative programs, events, meets, and field trips with staff from other Club groups and community organizations as appropriate.
• Secure and maintain materials, equipment and other resources belonging to the program areas. Maintain a safe and clean program areas.
• Travel to/from activities as needed.
• Other related duties as specified by the Aquatics Director.

Position Requirements

• Must be 15+ years of age.
• Current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid and Advanced Lifesaving certification required.
• Experience as a lifeguard preferred; at minimum, experience working with children/youth.
• Knowledge of youth development principles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be willing and able to do all activities throughout the day, participation is required in 75% of all activities.
