Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to ensure safety in and around the aquatic facility. The role requires vigilant supervision, CPR/First Aid, and responsive action in emergencies.

You will monitor activities, enforce rules, assist patrons, and participate in ongoing training to maintain lifeguard certification and water rescue skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.
• Experience in a customer service role or similar environment.
• Strong swimming skills and ability to perform water rescues.
• Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and AED usage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills.

Responsibilities
