Job summary

YMCA of Centre County in Bellefonte is accepting applications for part-time Lifeguards to ensure a safe, welcoming environment in our indoor pools.

Shifts include Monday/Friday mornings, Wednesdays midday, and Friday evenings. Responsibilities include vigilant supervision, enforcing rules, emergency response, cleaning, and maintaining readiness.

Qualifications

• Must have current Lifeguard Certification or ability to obtain one.
• Some high school education required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant vigilance of the pool area and respond proactively to swimmers in distress.
• Enforce pool rules and communicate effectively with youth and adults.
• Stay calm and provide clear direction in emergency situations.
• Keep the pool and deck area safe and free of hazards.
• Assist with pool cleaning duties, including vacuuming and other assigned tasks.
• Maintain physical readiness to perform all American Red Cross lifeguard rescue skills.

We’re looking for dependable staff to fill the following shifts:

• M and Friday mornings
• Wednesdays midday
• Friday evenings

Compensation & Benefits
