Remain physically and mentally alert, taking a proactive approach to searching for distressed swimmers and hazards.
Successfully communicate with youth and adults to enforce pool rules and schedules.
Remain calm, respond effectively, and give clear directions in an emergency situation.
Maintain safety of the pool environment by removing hazards that could lead to injury in or around the pool deck and halting any dangerous behavior displayed by patrons.
Responsible for helping clean the pool facility, including vacuuming the pool and other duties as assigned.
Remain physically capable of completing the prerequisite swim test as specified by the American Red Cross to ensure the ability to respond in an emergency situation.
The State College YMCA is currently accepting applications for part-time Lifeguards to be responsible for upholding safety rules, YMCA policies, accident prevention, and emergency response at our indoor pools. Staff are needed to fill shifts on weekdays from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Weekend shifts are also available.
$13.00 per hour.
Option to contribute to a 403(b) retirement program.
