Aptiv, located in Warwick, RI, is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to own and manage changes for released production products and manufacturing processes. You will drive engineering changes from inception to implementation, coordinating with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customers to ensure no production disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred.
• Minimum of three years engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading process improvements and engineering changes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the engineering owner for released products through lifecycle.
• Evaluate, coordinate, implement engineering changes affecting released products and processes.
• Manage Change Requests (CRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and related docs.
• Assess impact of changes on performance, quality, processes, tooling, cost and regulatory compliance.
• Lead cross-functional reviews with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and PM.
• Coordinate changes from customer requests, supplier changes, obsolescence, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support root cause investigations and implement design/material/process/product improvements.
• Maintain configuration control and product traceability.
• Maintain product documentation, BOMs, drawings, specs, and engineering standards.
• Coordinate validation, testing, and qualification for changes.
• Support PPAP submissions and customer notifications as required.
• Collaborate with suppliers on supplier-initiated changes.
