Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Sustaining Engineer in the United States to own released products through their lifecycle and manage changes across design revisions, materials, supplier updates, and cost-reduction initiatives. You will collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure changes are properly assessed, validated, and implemented without production disruption.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record leading process improvements and engineering change implementations.
  • Experience managing engineering changes, drawing revisions, BOM updates, and change control.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the engineering owner for released production products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Evaluate, coordinate, and implement engineering changes affecting released products, components, materials, specifications, manufacturing processes, and supplier-sourced parts.
  • Manage Change Requests (CRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and associated documentation.
  • Assess impact of proposed changes on performance, quality, manufacturing, tooling, cost, inventory, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Program Management.
  • Coordinate and execute product changes from customer requests, supplier changes, quality concerns, obsolescence, and cost-reduction initiatives.
