Job summary

Nue in the San Mateo area seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Lifecycle Management team, the platform’s most visible product. This leader will own engineering execution, manage a distributed group, and guide customer-impacting technical decisions.

This role is hands-on, running tight scrums, triaging production issues with AI-assisted tooling, and reading/troubleshooting code. Hybrid work with 4 days/week in our San Mateo office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years leading engineering teams in a product-focused SaaS.
• Experience reading and reasoning about Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and SQL.
• Hands-on leadership: run tight scrum, triage production issues, and make technical calls under pressure.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Lifecycle Management scrum team across multiple time zones.
• Own sprint planning, execution, and delivery for a team of 7-8 engineers.
• Remove blockers, manage dependencies across teams, and drive engineering decisions.
• Own customer success for lifecycle management; be the engineering point of contact for escalations.
• Drive technical quality and AI adoption; ensure testable, observable code and CI/CD practices.
• Grow and develop the team; hire, onboard, and conduct regular 1:1s.
