Job summary

Compass SLS & ILS in Sacramento is hiring a full-time Life Skills Instructor (Life Coach) to help adults with developmental disabilities live more independently. You will teach life skills, provide mentorship, and coordinate with families and care teams.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn; no college degree required, but must be teachable.
• Excellent scheduling and knowledge of community resources.
• Must have a car, insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• CPR and First Aid certification must be completed before hire (we pay).

Responsibilities

• Provide life skills instruction and mentorship to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Teach money management, household tasks, exercise and nutrition, social skills, and appointment planning.
• Coordinate with families and care teams to tailor services to each client.
• Support clients in maintaining independence and interdependent living arrangements.

WHO ARE WE:

As a coach with Compass, you will help adults with developmental disabilities live interdependently in their own homes through Independent Living Services. We walk beside our clients offering life skills instruction and mentorship. Every client's needs are unique to them and our teams work together to ensure each client receives the exact services they need.

OUR LIFE SKILLS COACHES WILL TEACH THEIR CLIENTS:

• Money Management
• Household chores and maintenance
• Exercise and nutrition-healthy meal preparation
• Recreational skills-social outings
• Medical and dental appointment setting
• General social and emotional skills

ILS COACH REQUIREMENTS:
