Job summary

GOALS Inc. in California is seeking Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructors to assist adults with developmental disabilities in building independence and reaching personal goals. You will train clients in daily living skills such as budgeting, cooking, personal care, and community safety.

You will teach one-on-one and in community or home settings, with a flexible schedule and ongoing collaboration with families and the team to stay aligned on goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in community settings.
• Current CPR & First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to empowering others.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support clients one-on-one in daily living skills (money management, cooking, personal hygiene, etc.).
• Encourage independence and confidence through consistent support.
• Track progress and adjust training to fit each client’s needs.
• Communicate with clients, families, and team members to stay aligned on goals.
