Job summary

Lane Education Service District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for the Life Skills Program. This part-time role supports students with moderate to severe disabilities under a licensed teacher, aiding daily living, communication, and independent living skills.

The position involves implementing plans, collecting data, and collaborating with staff to foster student independence, safety, and community participation, while following district policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with students and school staff.
• Ability to follow teacher direction and instructional plans.
• Ability to work with students with diverse disabilities.
• First Aid/CPR certification may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with planning and implementing instructional activities.
• Support student development of functional, communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Prepare instructional materials and organize resources for learning.
• Collect student data and report progress to the teacher.
• Provide behavioral and social-emotional support as directed by staff.
• Supervise and ensure safety of students in school and community settings.
