Job summary

Portal Innovations, a regional biotech venture development engine, seeks a Manager of Membership & Growth to drive the full membership sales cycle and cultivate strong relationships with startups and ecosystem partners in Rhode Island and New England.

You will partner with the Executive Director and Lab Operations to deliver a seamless onboarding experience, manage day-to-day member support, and ensure long-term retention of members in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

2+ years in sales, business development or membership growth in life sciences or related fields.
Track record of closing complex, consultative deals.
Existing network in RI or New England startup and life sciences ecosystem is advantageous.
Science degree or bench experience helpful for lab operations discussions.

Responsibilities

Own the full membership sales cycle from outreach to close.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of science-driven startups.
Build relationships with VCs, accelerators, universities, and ecosystem partners.
Support member growth and long-term retention.
Coordinate onboarding and day-to-day member support with leadership.
Maintain CRM discipline with accurate forecasting and reporting.
Represent Portal at industry events in Rhode Island and New England.
