Job summary

Avantor | VWR is seeking a dedicated Sales Representative to grow Education & Medical Research sales in the Houston region. This full-time, field-based role involves consultative selling to researchers and operational staff, owning the territory strategy, and building lasting relationships.

The successful candidate will travel to customer locations, collaborate with product specialists and partners, and drive growth through a broad portfolio and customer-centric approach.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a complex sales environment with multi-person buying decisions.
• 3+ years life sciences work or equivalent sales experience.
• Proven track record in consultative, strategic selling.
• B2B sales experience; distribution or scientific background preferred.
• Comfort with using formal selling processes and tech platforms.
• Must reside in Houston, TX or surrounding suburbs and be willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow a defined sales territory by developing and executing a strategic sales plan.
• Sell consultatively by understanding customer needs and recommending VWR products and solutions.
• Prospect and acquire new customers while growing and retaining existing accounts.
• Build strong, long-term customer relationships to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
• Collaborate with product specialists, manufacturer partners, and sales leadership to support customer success.
• Manage a diverse product portfolio and align sales efforts with company strategies and marketing initiatives.
• Represent VWR in the field and support all stages of the sales cycle, including negotiation and post-sale support.
