Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a driven and curious Preconstruction Manager to join our team in Houston. You will support the preconstruction lead, coordinate across design, procurement, and construction management, and drive planning strategies to ensure timely information flow and value-driven solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in industrial/commercial construction, with up to 50% travel across North America. A hybrid work environment and collaboration with multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities.
• Knowledge of general construction activity sequencing and execution.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and time physically present on active construction projects.
• Experience with developing a project schedule including optimizing construction sequencing.
• Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing/reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction lead on tasks involved in preconstruction planning deliverables including developing reports and presentations.
• Lead advanced work planning with design, procurement, and construction management teams to ensure efficient information flow.
• Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies in collaboration with construction management and procurement teams.
• Support development of Level 1-3 project schedules during preconstruction and 4D visualizations.
• Maintain risk registers and support development of mitigation plans.
• Support the project as the preconstruction phase transitions into construction execution.
