Job summary

FORMULATRIX is seeking an Applications Sales Specialist to champion the Ultrafiltration/TFF (Pulse) portfolio across the Eastern US and Canada. This hands-on, detail-oriented role bridges cutting-edge science and sales, managing the full sales process from lead to close, in collaboration with Inside Sales.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc in life sciences with hands-on experience in filtration and protein/nucleic acid work, and possesses excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• BSc (or equivalent) in a life sciences field with solid knowledge of biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
• Hands-on experience with preparative macromolecular separation techniques.
• Experience or strong interest in microfiltration/ultrafiltration; Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) preferred.
• Purification and characterization of proteins, nucleic acids, viral vectors, or lipid nanoparticles on a multi-milligram scale.
• Prior sales experience is advantageous but not required; strong technical drive and communication skills valued.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
• Ideally based in the Boston area with ability to travel throughout the Eastern US and Canada; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage opportunities from initial contact through negotiation, pricing, purchasing follow-up, and closing.
• Deliver compelling customer demos and provide hands-on support during product evaluations.
• Provide expert applications support, implement customer training, and ensure seamless onboarding.
• Travel across the territory to meet customers, perform equipment demonstrations, and represent FORMULATRIX at trade shows.
