Job summary

FORMULATRIX is seeking a hands-on Applications Sales Specialist to champion our Ultrafiltration/TFF portfolio across the Eastern US and Canada. You will bridge cutting-edge science with sales, managing the full process from lead to close and delivering demos with hands-on support.

A BSc in life sciences with knowledge of biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology is required; TFF experience is highly preferred. Travel is needed.

Qualifications

• BSc in life sciences with solid knowledge of biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
• Hands-on experience in tangential flow filtration (TFF) or related protein/nucleic acid purifications is preferred.
• Sales experience is a plus but not required with strong technical drive and communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication is essential.

We are seeking a hands-on, organized, and detail-oriented Applications Sales Specialist to champion our Ultrafiltration/TFF (Pulse) portfolio across the Eastern US and Canada territory.

In this fast-paced role, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and sales. You will manage the full sales process, collaborating closely with our Inside Sales team to turn leads into successful partnerships. This is a highly consultative role perfect for a scientist looking to transition into business, or an experienced sales professional with a strong technical background.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage opportunities from initial contact through negotiation, pricing, purchasing follow-up, and closing.
• Deliver compelling customer demos and provide hands-on support during product evaluations.
• Provide expert applications support, implement customer training, and ensure seamless onboarding.
• Travel across the territory to meet with customers, perform equipment demonstrations, and represent FORMULATRIX® at industry trade shows.

Qualifications

• BSc (or equivalent) in a life sciences field, featuring solid knowledge of general biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
• Hands‑on experience in at least one of the following areas: Preparative macromolecular separation techniques, microfiltration/ultrafiltration (Tangential Flow Filtration / TFF experience is highly preferred), purification and characterization of proteins, nucleic acids, viral vectors, or lipid nanoparticles on a "multi-milligram scale."
• Prior sales experience is a definite advantage, but not essential if you have the right technical drive and communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are an absolute must.
• Ideally based in the Boston area with an ability to travel as needed throughout the Eastern US and Canada. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
