Tennessee Donor Services in Chattanooga seeks a Family Care Coordinator to support donor families, hospital staff, and physicians throughout the donation process. The FCC role centers on counseling, coordination, and advocacy in the hospital setting.

The FCC will work 15 days per month and be on call for periods up to 24 hours, emphasizing respectful communication and education about donation options.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years healthcare experience with families, counseling, bereavement, or crisis intervention.
• Knowledge of medical and legal principles of authorization and donor evaluation.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and conflict management skills.

Responsibilities

• Determines family dynamics and assesses understanding to initiate donation discussion.
• Initiates donation discussion and authorization process with families and hospital staff.
• Responds to hospital referrals promptly and collaborates with healthcare teams.
• Provides education to hospital staff on authorization, family care, and donation process.
• On-site presence and on-call availability as required.
