Job summary

The American Red Cross in New York is seeking a Distribution Technician to receive, process, pack and ship blood products for hospital orders. You will triage orders by date and time, select and package products at the correct temperature to ensure safe transport, and maintain traceability through accurate records.

As a team member, you will communicate with hospital clients, volunteers and vendors, perform inventory and data-entry tasks, and may deliver to hospitals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years' experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, pack and ship blood products/samples for hospital orders.
• Triage orders by date and time needed; select and carefully pack products at correct temperatures to ensure safe transport.
• Communicate with hospital clients, volunteers and vendors; maintain product records to preserve traceability.
• Perform inventory management and data entry related to manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping; maintain accurate records.
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned.
