Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Distribution Technician responsible for receiving, processing, packing, and shipping blood products for hospital orders. You will triage orders, select and pack products with correct temperature control, and maintain traceability records.

You will also communicate with hospital clients, volunteers, and vendors while ensuring accurate documentation and positive teamwork. The role involves on‑site work and shift coverage including some on‑call hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years' experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment preferred; or equivalent education/experience.
• Good computer skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Accurate documentation and good decision‑making are important.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products/samples are suitable for release for distribution while meeting production goals.
• Perform inventory management throughout manufacturing and shipping processes.
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Perform data entry for manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping; maintain records.
• Analyze information from other departments to meet time and quality standards.
• Identify and quarantine products that don’t meet requirements and disposition unacceptable product.
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned.
